Justice Lok Pal Singh is a widely respected figure in India’s legal and judicial circles, renowned for his expertise across civil, revenue, constitutional, and arbitration law. Beginning his career in 1988, he quickly established a reputation for handling complex civil and revenue matters before transitioning to criminal jurisprudence, where he served as counsel in high-profile cases for both public and private institutions, including prominent banks and corporations.
A founding member of the Bar Association at the High Court of Uttarakhand, Justice Singh was instrumental in shaping the state’s judicial landscape over three decades. His professional journey is marked by significant involvement in landmark cases—most notably, the celebrated Ganga mining matter—which exemplify his commitment to fairness, due process, and public interest.
Elevated to the bench in May 2017 as a permanent Judge of the High Court of Uttarakhand, Justice Singh presided independently across constitutional, service, company, and arbitration cases, consistently upholding judicial excellence and ethical standards until his retirement in February 2021. His tenure was distinguished by a substantial volume of decisions and active engagement with issues at the core of India’s legal evolution.
